Our Lady of the Rosary, Council #13272, recently built a stage for the Immaculate Heart School (IHS) in Oro Valley. The stage is located in the school’s gym and serves primarily for the school’s movable altar when celebrating Mass for the entire school (K-12). The project was completed in time for the school to celebrate the upcoming First Communion of many of its students.
Brother Luis Kamei:
We wanted to again congratulate you, your council officers, and the membership at large for achieving the top recruiting position for the first half of the fraternal year 2012-2013. It is a great achievement, and one that says you and your members are dedicated to growing the Order and evangelizing our Catholic faith.
We pray that you and your Council and their families will continue to receive the grace of God in your good work.
God bless you, and have a Blessed Happy Easter!!!

In February 2013 the Obama administration published a new “proposed rule” containing revisions to its earlier mandate requiring most health plans to cover contraception, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs. These revisions did very little to correct the underlying problem with the mandate. A large number of religious organizations, including schools, colleges and universities, hospitals and charitable organizations will be forced to provide objectionable coverage. Businesses and individuals of faith will lose the right to provide health care coverage that respects their deeply held religious and moral convictions.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has expressed serious concerns about the new proposed rule and its violation of religious freedom.
Public comments on the proposed rule are due on April 8.
Please act today and take a stand for religious freedom. To submit a comment to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), please click here: http://nchla.org/actiondisplay.asp?ID=292
The link provides draft language for your email. Please also feel free to add your own comments.
The struggle for religious freedom is at a decisive moment in our nation. We must protect this right not only for own sake, but for the sake of our children, our grandchildren and all future generations.

We are making progress, but we have a ways to go. Our membership growth is like sitting on second base, with the score tied, bottom of the 8th inning, a solid hit can make a big difference.
Has your council made a difference? Have you added one new member each month? I know some have, which means all councils have opportunities. See the attached for ideas, and steps you can take to make that difference.
We have excitement in that this is the first time in history that we have two living Popes at one time. Pope Francis I is an inspiration, and should give us hope that the focus of his message and our religion is to assist the needy (Charity!!!). Sound familiar??
This should be the main message as you talk to potential candidates. The Knights of Columbus are in concert with the Pope’s desires, and we need to capitalize on that Mojo.
